Dr. Gerald “Jerry” J. Wilmink is the Founder and CEO of WiseWear®. Jerry started WiseWear in his San Antonio garage in 2013 after his grandfather passed away due to a fatal fall. On a mission to “right this wrong”, WiseWear was created to
develop a family of consumer health care products that empower individuals with the tools that they need to lead happy, healthy, safe & productive lives.

WiseWear products were awarded top technology honors in 2016, and have been featured on the Today Show, FastCompany, Mashable, WWD, Wired, ABC News, USA Today, JCK, Engadget, CNBC, Inc. Magazine, Time, Money, Huffington Post, InStyle and BBC World News.

Dr. Wilmink formerly served as a start-up business consultant for Venture Capital firms, and a program manager for the Department of Defense’s $3 Billion Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. Jerry earned a BS, MS, and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University, and an MBA from University of Texas at Austin. As a National Academy
of Science's research associate he founded the 1st Terahertz biosensing laboratory in the Air Force Research Laboratory. He has penned a several patents, published 55 manuscripts, book chapters,and review articles, and has delivered over 100 keynote or plenary presentations at conferences including CES, RISE, TEDMED, SXSW, and SPIE.

In 2015, Jerry was selected as San Antonio’s Tech Entrepreneur of the year and for San Antonio's 40 Under 40 award. He also was selected for membership in to the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), named by Forbes as America's most elite entrepreneur organization. Jerry is a Founding Member of a VISTAGE Key group, serves as an advisor for several startup companies, and as a
mentor for TechStars, the #1 startup accelerator in the world. Jerry is a Fellow and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Jerry also is an advisor and panel review member for our country’s National Academy of Sciences NRC, NSFGRFP, SMART, and NDSEG Programs.
