Karen Harvey and Elle Present the Founders of the Future Challenge
By now, you’ve probably heard about the Founders of the Future Challenge, our search for the most promising fashion tech startups. With the call for submissions set to close at 11:59 P.M. EST on Sunday, May 17, we’re ready to reveal even more details about this year’s competition.
Three finalist teams chosen from a pool of applicants will present their concepts live on stage at FTF: Conference 2015 on June 11 at Pier 36 on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The finalists will be judged by a panel of top-tier fashion and tech industry leaders, including Anne Slowey, Fashion News Director, ELLE; Steven Alan, CEO, Steven Alan; Scott Dadich, Editor-in-Chief, Wired Magazine; and Ken Seiff, Managing Director, Beanstalk Ventures. The team deemed to have the most compelling early-stage brand development or business concept will receive the Founders of the Future Prize, live on stage at FTF: Conference 2015.
FTF founder Karen Harvey and ELLE Editor-in-Chief Robbie Myers will present the winning founders with $50,000 in seed investment money, along with six weeks of mentorship, provided by ELLE and FTF, during which some of fashion and tech’s most successful leaders will offer them insight, support and guidance.
Last year’s winner, Rank and Style, credited the Founders of the Future Prize with helping them to go on to do even bigger and better things (you can read our Q+A with the founders of Rank of Style, one year after their win, here).
